By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 16, 2018, the “State Program on Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023” was approved. Within the framework of this program, and in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) and Ege University of Türkiye, as well as the protocol endorsed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye, ADAU announces student admission for the 2020/2021 academic year to the bachelor’s degree international dual diploma programs in “Agronomy,” “Plant Protection,” “Agroengineering,” and “Economics,” exclusively on a state-funded (tuition-free) basis. It should be noted that beginning this year, admission to the ADAU–EGE international dual diploma program is conducted in the specialties of “Plant Protection,” “Agronomy,” “Agroengineering,” “Zootechnical Engineering,” “Horticulture,” and “Soil Science.”

ADAU Students Graduate from Ege University with Top Honors


Graduation ceremonies for the second cohort admitted to the international dual diploma program implemented between Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) and Ege University of Türkiye were held at Ege University in Izmir.

In his remarks, ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov congratulated the graduates, their families, and the instructors who played a significant role in shaping the students over the past four years. He highlighted the importance of the project for the country’s agricultural sector.

Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education Nicat Mammadli and Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture Azad Jafarov also addressed the event, congratulating the graduates and noting that this state-supervised program continues successfully and contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists.

Based on academic excellence, Nigar Bayramova ranked first, Ali Mammadov second, and Tamara Heydarova third among the graduates of Ege University’s Faculty of Agriculture. All three top-ranking graduates received honorary certificates from ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov. Additionally, the name of the top graduate, Nigar Bayramova, was inscribed in the faculty’s honor register.

The event concluded with a ceremonial concert program and fireworks.

Fourth-Year Students Arrive in Izmir for the ADAU–EGE Dual Degree Program


Fourth-year students enrolled in the international dual diploma program jointly implemented by ADAU and Ege University have arrived in the city of Izmir.

The students will study at Ege University for one academic year, after which they will graduate and receive diplomas from both universities.

During a breakfast meeting with the dual-degree students, Rector of Ege University Necdet Budak welcomed them and wished them success.

Until the start of the academic year, students will receive detailed information about the university campus, electronic library system, and other available facilities.

Students will also be involved in internship programs at relevant academic departments.

Meetings Held in Izmir with Steering Committee, Academic Staff, and Alumni of the ADAU–EGE Dual Degree Program


A meeting was held within the framework of the “State Program on Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023,” attended by senior representatives of both universities and officials from the Ministries of Agriculture and Science and Education of Azerbaijan.The meeting addressed program implementation, student admission in new specialties, future strategic directions, and issues of academic cooperation. A report by Lamiyə Quliyeva, the program director, was presented.

During the visit, members of the steering committee also met with professors and instructors of Ege University, as well as alumni of the dual diploma program. Recommendations were offered regarding academic development and career opportunities, and the importance of joint scientific research was emphasized.
At the end of the event, letters of appreciation were presented to a group of instructors and students for their effective contributions to the program.

TKTA Presents Accreditation Certificates for the ADAU–EGE Dual Degree Program


Based on the decision of the Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Quality Assurance Agency in Education (TKTA) organized the presentation of certificates confirming the successful completion of accreditation evaluation for the dual diploma programs financed under the “State Program on Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023,” approved by Presidential Order No. 711 of November 16, 2018.

Representatives of universities were presented with certificates based on the results of the accreditation evaluation of 11 dual diploma programs jointly implemented by four Azerbaijani higher education institutions (ADA University with George Washington University; Azerbaijan State Agricultural University with Ege University; Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University with George Washington University; Baku Engineering University with INHA University).

At the event, Chairman of the TKTA Board Tural Ahmadov and representatives of the dual diploma programs exchanged views on improving the effectiveness of the programs.
Participants also discussed the importance of personnel training aligned with the scope of the programs.

The event concluded with a formal certificate-presentation ceremony and group photographs.

Graduation Ceremony Held for the First Cohort of the ADAU–EGE Dual Degree Program


A graduation ceremony was held at Ege University for students studying within the dual diploma program jointly implemented by Ege University of Türkiye and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).

First, the memory of the martyrs of Azerbaijan and Türkiye was honored with a minute of silence.

Then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Türkiye were performed.

The ceremony was attended by leaders of both universities, representatives of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, members of the program’s steering committee, government officials, academic staff, and students.

Rector of Ege University Necdet Budak expressed his pride and joy in celebrating the first graduates of the ADAU–EGE dual diploma program.

ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov noted that the international dual diploma program symbolizes the brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the field of education. He emphasized that the 40 students graduating this year will play an exceptional role in the future development of the agricultural sector of Azerbaijan.

Subsequently, Head of the Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture Azad Jafarli, Head of the Science and Higher Education Policy Department of the Ministry of Science and Education Turxan Suleyman, and Counselor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye Nejiba Nasibova delivered speeches, highly evaluating the program and wishing success to the graduates.

Following the speeches, Rector Necdet Budak announced that ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov had been awarded the honorary title of “Honorary Doctor of Ege University,” and presented him with the honorary diploma and academic robe.

Finally, appreciation certificates were presented to the students who ranked first, second, and third in the Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University, and their names were engraved in the honor register.


ADAU–EGE Dual Degree Program Will Continue in the Coming Years


A meeting was held between the leadership of Ege University of Türkiye and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).

Speaking at the meeting, ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov emphasized the significance of the dual diploma program implemented between the two universities. He noted that the program benefits students, faculty members, and researchers alike.

Ege University Rector Necdet Budak expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the dual degree program and wished for its continued success.

It was noted at the meeting that the relations between the two brotherly countries are at a high level in all spheres in the field of education. After the meeting the delegation of Ege University visited secondary school No 39 named after Mir Jalal Pashayev. The school met with a modern classroom, held a meeting with young teachers and told them about Ege University.

Steering Committee Meeting of International Double Diploma Program between the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) and Ege University was held on May 11th, 2022.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current state of implementation of the double diploma program and the challenges ahead.

On the second day of the visit to the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, the delegation led by the Rector of Ege University Nejdet Budak familiarized themselves with the material and technical base of the university.

A delegation of the Faculty of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Veterinary Medicine of ADAU got acquainted with the modern conditions created here for students on site, visited modern classrooms and laboratories.

Visitors of the soil science laboratory were given detailed information on analyses conducted here. Then the exhibits displayed at the Museum of Pathological Anatomy of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine were examined.

Nejdet Budak then gave a lecture to young teachers and researchers at the University's Student House No 2.

At the event, certificates were awarded to students who had volunteered for three months in the Information and Coordination Office of the Double Diploma Program.

The Ganja Chamber Orchestra of the Ganja State Philharmonic organized a concert program for participants of the double diploma program.

A concert program prepared by the Ganja State Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra was presented to the participants. The concert program was prepared by the chamber orchestra of the Ganja State Philharmonic Society named after F.Amirov. The program welcomed the performances of pop ensembles "Khamsa" and "Goygol". Then songs "The Black Sea was raging", "Azerbaijan" by Muslim Magomayev were performed on the verses of Ahmad Javad, the poet of independence.

On the last day of the visit, the guests were introduced to the process of conducting molecular analyses at the Biotechnology Center of the university in order to determine the resistance of plants to various stress factors and diseases.

The Turkish delegation paid tribute to the memory of the city residents killed by Armenian terrorism in Ganja.

The guests visited the mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi. They laid flowers at the tomb of the great Azerbaijani poet and paid tribute to his memory.

Then the Turkish delegation went for a walk through the city's Central Market.

A regular meeting of the steering committee of the International Double Diploma Program implemented by the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University and Ege University of Türkiye was held on May 13, 2022. Issues on the agenda were discussed at the meeting: evaluation of joint cooperation, work on career planning and so on.

The event was attended by the rector of ADAU, corresponding member of ANAS, Prof. Ibrahim Jafarov, the rector of Ege University, Prof. Dr. Nejdet Budak, Advisor to the Minister of Education Nijat Mammadli, the Deputy Head of the Department of Human Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture Emin Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University Banu Yujel, the Head of the management team of the "State Program to improve the international competitiveness of higher education system in Azerbaijan Republic for 2019-2023" Turan Topalova, the Chief Advisor of the Ministry of Education Vusala Gurbanova, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of ADAU, Associate Professor Anar Hatamov and others.

At the meeting, the Rector of ADAU Ibrahim Jafarov and the Rector of Ege University Nejdet Budak signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation. The purpose of the agreement is to promote mutual research work, exchange of students and joint exchange of academic information, publications.

On August 9, during an online ceremony dedicated to the signing of a dual-degree program between the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) and Turkey’s Ege University, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev addressed the significance of the dual-degree initiative, emphasizing that such collaborations will contribute to further deepening educational relations between the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Qadimova, Rector of Ege University Necdet Budak, and Rector of ADAU Ibrahim Jafarov, who also attended the signing ceremony, delivered remarks. They assessed the expansion of cooperation between the two higher education institutions as an essential step and expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the realization of this initiative.

Student admissions will be conducted by the State Examination Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan based on the results of national university entrance examinations.

Within the framework of the program, starting from 2021, a total of 120 students per year will receive tuition-free education—three years at ADAU and one year at Ege University. Funding for the dual-degree program is envisaged within the “State Program for Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023.”

Part of the academic curriculum and practical training—culminating in the awarding of diplomas from both institutions—will be carried out at Ege University. Additionally, courses will be taught by experienced faculty members from both universities. All expenses incurred by students throughout their studies will be covered through resources from the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the State Program. These expenses include tuition fees, registration fees, access to educational materials and electronic information resources, study at Ege University, participation in summer school and industrial internships. Students will also receive a monthly incentive scholarship.

It should be noted that Ege University was established as the first university in the Aegean region and the fourth in Turkey, in İzmir, under Law No. 6595 published on May 20, 1955, and commenced operations on March 9, 1956. Known for the quality of its education not only in Turkey but internationally, the university currently enrolls nearly 70,000 students. Ege University has been listed in international rankings such as the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai).

Student enrollment in the ADAU-EGE dual diploma program was 100%


The undergraduate student enrollment rate for the 2025 academic year under the dual diploma program implemented between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and the Turkish Ege University was 100 percent.

This result once again confirms that cooperation in the field of education between the two brotherly countries is being successfully implemented and that the program arouses great interest among applicants.

It should be noted that this year, admission to the ADAU-EGE international dual diploma program was carried out in the specialties of "Plant Protection", "Agronomy", "Agroengineering", "Zooengineering", "Horticulture" and "Soil Science".
