In accordance with the action plan of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, the Ganja Regional Department of the Ministry organized an awareness-raising event jointly with Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) aimed at ensuring the effective organization of protection against anticipated seasonal hazards.
Due to the spring season, the increase in water levels in local and transboundary rivers raises the risk of floods and inundations. In order to ensure reliable protection against such hazards, the event was held on the banks of the Ganja River. During the event, specialists of the Ganja Regional Department provided participants with detailed practical instructions.
At the event, representatives of the Ganja Regional Department — chief advisors Emil Aslanov and Mikayil Eminbeyli, as well as senior officers Major Ilham Maharramov and Captain Farid Mammadov — delivered speeches and provided detailed information on the organization of operational response during potential floods, as well as procedures for the evacuation of civilians from disaster zones.
Additionally, participants were informed about the necessary preventive measures to ensure the safety of public catering, educational, and industrial facilities in such situations.
The awareness event was attended by the academic staff of the Department of Life Safety of ADAU, as well as students from several faculties.
Following the event, a seminar on the topic was also organized for students.
