A scientific-theoretical conference titled “The Legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev is a National Treasure of Our People” was held at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) in honor of the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan. The event began with the National Anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Opening the conference, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Tavakkul Islamov, emphasized that Heydar Aliyev, who was deeply devoted to his homeland and people, dedicated his entire life and extensive experience in state governance to the prosperous future of Azerbaijan.
Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Elgun Aslanov, noted that due to his wise leadership, unwavering commitment, and historical foresight, Heydar Aliyev played a vital role in realizing the idea of national statehood.
His deep love for the nation, homeland, and humanity earned him an eternal place in the hearts of the Azerbaijani people. It was highlighted that as long as Azerbaijan exists, the name, deeds, and political legacy of the National Leader will live on, continuing to guide the country toward progress. Members of the university’s academic staff-Chairman of the ADAU Council of Elders, Associate Professor Siyasat Mammadov, Head of the Department of Information Technologies, Zakir Huseynov, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Social Sciences, Turkan Ahmadova - spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s contributions across political, social, economic, scientific, and cultural spheres. They highlighted his honorable life journey, his role as a national savior, and his exceptional contributions to the history of Azerbaijani statehood. The speakers emphasized that this great leader helped guide the nation through difficult historical trials and laid a strong foundation for the bright future of modern Azerbaijan.
At the end of the event, engineering faculty students Arifa Ismayilova and Leyla Hasanli recited poems and presented reports dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev.
