A seminar titled “Youth and Innovation” organized by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technical Service of the Faculty of Engineering at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU).
First, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence, followed by the National Anthem.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ahmad Malikov noted that increasing students’ interest in scientific activity plays an important role in their future professional development. He emphasized that such events contribute to the improvement of students’ knowledge and skills and help shape their scientific way of thinking.
Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Azad Ibrahimov stressed that the Student Scientific Society serves as an important platform for revealing students’ scientific potential. He added that such events contribute to the development of innovative approaches and the generation of new ideas.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Tavakkul Islamov and Head of the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technical Service Aydin Isayev stated in their speeches that students’ participation in scientific seminars and conferences is highly important for the development of both their theoretical and practical knowledge. They also noted that such platforms play a significant role in helping students express their ideas freely.
Within the framework of the seminar, a project titled “Smart Field: An Autonomous Shield Against the Climate Crisis” was presented. Later, presentations by a total of 15 students were heard. The academic staff evaluated the presentations, shared opinions and suggestions on the topics, and gave recommendations to students for further improvement.
At the end of the event, students who actively participated were awarded certificates and letters of appreciation.
