A scientific competition was held at the Horticulture Department of the Agronomy Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU) on the theme "Although the power lies in science, there are those who carry it on their shoulders...", jointly organized by the Student Scientific Society (TEC) and the Agrarian Youth Organization of ADAU.
The main goal of the competition was to develop independent and creative thinking skills, communication skills, management and leadership qualities in students. Students studying in various courses of the university and showing interest in management and leadership positions actively participated in the event.
The competition was organized in two directions. In the first direction, articles were presented on the role of the results of scientific research in the field of horticulture and viticulture in the development of the republic, as well as the lives and activities of scientists distinguished for their services in personnel training. Students spoke about the contributions to science of academician Ahmad Rajabli, professors Jabrayil Aliyev, Mail Amanov, Nadir Huseynov, Shikar Aliyev, as well as Aligulu Narimanov, Zaur Hasanov and Famil Sharifov, their efforts in personnel training, and personal memories. The presentations were accompanied by photo slides, thereby conveying the rich scientific history of the department to the student audience. The speakers were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The second direction of the competition was dedicated to the results of the students' independent scientific research work. In this context, Nigar Salahova spoke on the topic of "Vegetative propagation of olive plants", Gumru Guliyeva on "Complications during climate change and ways to prevent them", Nihad Murvetov on "Identification of training needs", Fatma Aslanova on "GZIT analysis", Sadagat Ibrahimova on "Intercropping in vegetable growing", and Bayram Suleymanov on "Digital and Smart Agricultural Services".
By the decision of the Competition Commission, Bayram Suleymanov was awarded the first place and was presented with a plaque of the competition. Other participants were given certificates.
