A Republican Scientific Conference of Master’s Students and Young Researchers was held at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).
The conference began with honoring the blessed memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem.
Participants were then informed about the purpose and significance of the conference. It was noted that in the modern higher education system, engaging master’s students and young researchers in scientific activity, developing their research skills, and integrating them into the academic environment are among the priority directions. The main goal of the conference is to provide an open platform for young researchers to present and discuss scientific results, enhance their academic writing and presentation skills, and expand scientific cooperation among higher education institutions.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at ADAU, Ahmad Malikov, emphasized that the development of the scientific potential of master’s students and young researchers is one of the university’s main priorities. He noted that the role of youth in the advancement of science is continuously increasing, and supporting their initiatives is of great importance. The Vice-Rector highlighted that ADAU provides broad opportunities for young scientists to engage in research activities, and such conferences significantly contribute to shaping their scientific outlook and future academic careers.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Young Scientists, Doctoral Candidates and Masters, Ilgar Orucov, underlined the importance of such platforms in increasing young people’s interest in science and stressed the significance of active participation in the academic environment. Following his speech, he presented several books to ADAU, including “12 Modules for Open Scientific Learning,” “We Trust Artificial Intelligence,” “Transition to Clean Energy,” and “Interdisciplinary Relations – Production of New Knowledge.”
Professor Sezai Delibacak from Ege University delivered a presentation on master’s education at his university. He provided detailed information about the implemented graduate programs, international academic cooperation opportunities, and the research environment created for students. He also emphasized the importance of gaining international experience for young researchers.
Within the plenary session, doctoral student Ayhan Ahmadov from the Department of Horticulture presented on “Scientific Foundations of Intensive Hazelnut Cultivation Technology in the Sheki-Zagatala Economic Region.” Subsequently, master’s student Orkhan Gurbanov presented the results of his research titled “Evaluation of the Effects of a Complex Compound Based on Succinic Acid and CoSO₄·7H₂O on the Growth and Reproductive Characteristics of Gisela-6 Rootstock.”
After the plenary session, the conference continued with sectional meetings. In the second half of the day, scientific reports in various fields were presented and discussed at the new academic building of ADAU.
