On the second day of the visit to ASAU, the delegation led by the Rector of BHOS, Elmar Gasimov, met with the leadership of the university.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for joint cooperation, faculty and student exchange, and future prospective projects.
In his speech, the Rector of ASAU, Zafar Gurbanov, stated that the visit is of significant importance in further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two higher education institutions. He noted that in the modern era, an interdisciplinary approach in higher education and university–industry cooperation are among the key conditions for sustainable development, and that ASAU attaches special importance to mutually beneficial cooperation with BHOS in this direction. The Rector also expressed confidence that the visit would contribute to the implementation of future joint initiatives and to the institutional development of scientific and academic relations.

He emphasized that food security has become a strategic priority against the backdrop of global challenges, and that the training of highly qualified specialists in this field is of particular importance. He pointed out that the integration of modern technologies, engineering solutions, and innovative approaches into the agricultural sector plays a crucial role in increasing productivity and ensuring sustainable development. According to him, cooperation between higher education institutions serves as an important platform for strengthening food security and enhancing the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, a promotional video of ASAU was also presented.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum on joint cooperation was signed between ASAU and BHOS.
Following the official meeting, the guests visited ASAU’s modern laboratories, open and closed aquaculture laboratories, the Animal Husbandry Center, the Machine-Tractor Park, the Vivarium, the Greenhouse Complex, student dormitories, and the Grain and Legume Crops Laboratory.
The guests also became acquainted with the modern studio of the University’s online television channel, ASAU TV, where Rector Elmar Gasimov gave an interview.
Subsequently, a meeting was held with a group of professors and academic staff of ASAU. During the meeting, issues related to expanding scientific research cooperation between higher education institutions, implementing joint projects, and increasing academic mobility opportunities were discussed.
The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary approaches, applying innovative teaching methods, and further developing cooperation with industry. It was also noted that mobilizing the scientific potential of the academic staff within the framework of joint initiatives would contribute to sustainable development in the country’s priority areas.
