Today, the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) held the opening ceremony of the summer school «Agriculture of the Future» for students of higher educational establishments of our republic and brother Turkish Republic who are members of the organization «Agricultural Development Volunteers».
Opening the event, which began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War, the Rector of the University, a corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov said that the organization «Agricultural Development Volunteers», created on the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, plays an exceptional role in demonstrating public support, increasing interest in agricultural education, Implementing the ideas of young professionals and drawing public attention to this sphere. It was noted that the wide-ranging measures under way to increase the interest of young people in agricultural education through the attention and concern of the State for agricultural education and the formation of modern youth in agriculture were aimed at the training of specialists, that will meet the requirements of tomorrow’s agriculture. In this connection the summer school «Agriculture of the Future» with the participation of students of 19 universities is of great importance.
Elvin Pashayev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of human resources department, conveyed to the participants the congratulations of the Minister of Agriculture Inam Kerimov, spoke about the necessity of creation of the organization «Agricultural Development Volunteers», its activity, active participation of students of ADAU and other universities in this process, contribution of the movement to preparation of agricultural specialists, meeting modern challenges, Promotion of agrarian education among young people, projects implemented and expected results and wished the participants of the school success.
Adil Taghiyev, Deputy Head of the Executive Authority of Ganja - Head of the Department of Analysis and Forecasting of Social and Economic Development, Academician Fuad Aliyev, Chairman of the Ganja Branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Professor Yusif Yussibov, Rector of Ganja State University, Assistant Professor Parvin Kerimzade, Deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vice-Chancellor for Science and Technology of Ganja State University, Mushfig Jafarov, Deputy of Milli Mejlis, Vugar Ismailov, Vice-Rector for Academic Work of Azerbaijan Technological University, Kamran Aliyev, chairman of «Volunteers of Agricultural Development» and Zohrab Suleyman, head of the social network «Universities of Azerbaijan» speaking at the event, wished the participants of the school success.
Participants from various universities then stated that they would benefit from lectures given at the summer school by leading scholars from our country and foreign universities, representatives of international organizations and representatives of State and business organizations on the agriculture of tomorrow, the development of the agricultural sector in the liberated territories, «Smart Village», «Smart Agriculture», «E-Agriculture», global climate change and its impact on the development of the agricultural sector and food security, Agricultural education as well as lectures on agricultural motives in the work of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi.
At the end of the event, Dinara Aliyeva, a graduate of ADAU, was awarded the title of «Student of the Year» on the basis of the results of a survey conducted in the social network «Universities of Azerbaijan».
It should be noted that, as part of the summer school programme to be held from 22 to 31 July 2021, visits for participants will be made to the Mausoleum "Nizami" and the Museum "Nizami Ganjavi", the Heydar Aliyev Park-complex, "Zafar Tagi", the Fortress Gates: Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, the centre "Mahsati Ganjavi", the religious complex «Imamzadeh», "Khan Baghi", the park "Europe 2016-Youth Capital", the Ganja Flag Square, the park and boulevard complex "Ganjachai", the museum "Mirza Shafi Vazeh", and the Museum of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic; the Philarmonic Hall, the "Hamsa" Park, the Geigel National Park, the sights of the Gabala District, as well as leading agricultural enterprises.
